We are having rare studies on Nuristan and facing difficulties accessing to sources that study Nuristan, hence this blog was created to explore the unique history, culture society, custom, people and political situation of Nuristan.
Greek Nuristani didn't danced for money, didn't danced with strangers, didn't danced for someone or purposes, didn't dressing women like in the pictures shows, But they danced with their husband only, they do their ceremony only for exact times of their culture, and Nuristani protected their women. The pictures which shows in blog, these women in Chitral Pakistan, you can use them for less mony or for every purpose
These pictures are biased, majority of nuristan and kalash DONT have light hair and eyes, you found rare individuals and show the same ones all throughout the post, the same amount of light eye and hair can be found in any clan in south Asia, and you mention the same groups all through out your blog???? I am also studying anthropology and assure you they dont have foreign DNA, they are actually Mongoloid blooded, i have been there and deployed in nuristan, i can tell you what they really look like, you can tell yourself what ever you want. light hair is also brought on by sunlight and malnourishment and some in those pictures have henna, and some pictures are retouched because iv seen the exact same ones all throughout the web with a different eye color, and yeah post the comments that you want, so people think a different way, you will remain you
Dear Amanda Beeso, Your comments are appreciated but the point is I didn't get what do you want to say? The pictures are not artificial as you think so. These pictures were taken by foreign researchers and scholars. I don't have enough information to talk about nuristani people race. But there are different foreign scholars who have gone through this region and have very valuable researches. I have put their book names detail in the blog; you can have access to them for further information in regards to nuristan. If you have your own researches and views, I will be very happy if you share it with me to publish it in the blog. Wishes
I do not think these picture's are artificial = they mostly show Kalashi tribal's and you were in Nuristan . How is using the available photos artificial ? I think you had a bad experience there ( in Nuristan ) and you can not see past this , this is a collection of photo's ?
As a Nuristani, I would have to agree with Amanda Besso on this matter. We always try to portray Nuristanis are light skin, blue/green eyes, but as someone who is Nuristani and has been to Nuristan I could tell you I have seen lots of dark/brown skin Nuristanis without blue/green eyes. It would be nice to also focus on Nuristanis that do not have that Western features. Dont get me wrong, we do have Nuristanis that have those features but like we also have nuristanis that do not have those features in these pictures.
He cant...They steal other nations history like they stole other nations land. Abdul, if u want to research check serbian folklor from metohija: ( metoijska narodna nosnja ).
One thing i agree witht the lady above is not all Nuristanis are white looking, i do have family members who have blue/green eyes and blond hair, but i also have plenty of family members who are just brown
Thank you for such a well written article. It’s full of insightful information and entertaining descriptions.Your point of view is the best among many. moon rocks
Noticed the same pictures over the net for a long time, sorry but predatory and whenever topic is mentioned it’s fringed or skewed and instead shows issue in the region because reality is very different and some of the same mock other communities, also it’s not genuinely respecting the tribe, for example many trying to change, and part of the reason why almost disappearing inside and out.
